This trek will take you through glaciers and lakes of Patagonia, Argentina. You will spend two nights camping under the stars both locations are hand picked because of their beautiful scenery. From the viewpoint at Maestri you will have the opportunity to capture spectacular photos of Glacier Grande.

Day 1: El Calafate – El Chaltén – Campo Poincenot

You will be taken by private vehicle to El Chalten, starting from El Calafate (or the airport). Here, you will meet your local guide and prepare the final details of the trip.

Around noon you will set out towards El Pilar Hostal (located approximately 16 km away), and from here you will begin the excursion to Campo Poincenot. Several parts of the trail dip in and out of an oak and Antartic beech forest, with spectacular views over the Piedras Blancas Glacier. Once at the camp and after putting up the tents, you will continue trekking to Rio Blanco (a campsite for climbers only). From here you will walk for another hour, through steep terrain, up to the Los Tres lagoon, which will reward you with a breathtaking panorama of the Fitz Roy massif. Then you will return to the Poincenot campsite, to rest for the night. Walking time for the first day will be about 6 hours. A packed lunch and dinner are included.

After breakfast you will leave the Poincenot campsite and begin your walk towards the Torre lagoon. Along the way you will have a close encounter with the lagoons Madre e Hija. After about 3 hours of walking you will arrive at the Torre lagoon, to a place that will give you breathtakingly wonderful views of the Torre forest. If weather conditions are on your side, you can go up to the Maestri viewpoint to have a closer look at the Glacier Grande. You will spend the night at the Prestadores campsite. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner are included.
