Cono Sur Profundo
Day 1: Buenos Aires
This Argentinian adventure will start in Buenos Aires airport where we will wait for you before taking you to the hotel of your choice.
Day 2: Buenos Aires/City Tour
After a delicious breakfast, we will embark on a journey that will take you to the most hidden, classical and enchanting corners of the Paris of South America. First, you will visit the Plaza de Mayo, home to the Casa Rosada (Presidential Palace), the Baildo and the Cathedral. Then it will be the turn of the cobbled streets of San Telmo, that emanate an old, colonial charm; and La Boca, with the colourful houses of Caminito and the legendary Bombonera (Boca Junior’s Stadium). Later you will make a stop in Puerto Madero, the most fashionable spot in the city, in Retiro and Recoleta, a neighbourhood known for its elegance, embellished by the eponymous cemetery, where many famous people, including Evita, lie. This will complete the tour, but not the full day in the city: dinner, accompanied by the tango show will be the icing on the cake.
Day 3: Buenos Aires/Puerto Madryn
This day, after breakfast, you will head to the airport to take the flight to Trelwe, en route to the enchanting Puerto Madryn, where you will be received at your lodgings for the following nights.
Day 4: Puerto Madryn
This fourth day will be among the most unforgettable of your trip. You will depart towards the Valdes Peninsula and along the way, you will make a stop at the Puerto Pyramids, to be part of a boat tour (not included in the price, but unmissable) and see up close the giants of the sea that inspired the works of Melville: the whales. Then, you will see other inhabitants of the Pacific: sea lions, that will receive you in Caleta Valdes, after a pause in Punta Delgada or Punta Norte, depending on the season. It will be them that give you a farewell before your return to Puerto Madryn.
Day 5: Puerto Madryn
Once you have recharged your batteries with a good breakfast, you will begin the route to Punta Tombo, where you will see the largest colony of penguins in South America. On the way back to Puerto Madryn, you will have the time to take a getaway to the Welsh colony of Gaiman, where you can find the picturesque teahouses that still keep alive the old traditions of the country.
Day 6: Puerto Madryn/Ushuaia
This day you will leave the cosy surroundings that have hosted you during the past days to continue your adventure towards the south: Ushaia, the end of the world.
Day 7: Ushuaia
On the seventh day, after breakfast, you will depart for Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego (Fireland National Park), where you’ll start the trekking, park and canoe tour. You will begin with a three-hour walk along a path that goes along the edge of the mountain to reach the Roca Lake, where you will have lunch. Having received, if necessary, canoeing and kayaking equipment, you will embark on a tour of the canals and rivers of the park; a grand adventure that will be rewarded with a well earned rest in the city of Ushuaia.
Day 8: Ushuaia/El Calafate
Day 8 starts with another flight. From Ushuaia you will be led to the wonderful El Calafate, where you will check‐in to your hotel and you can enjoy your free time in this little town.
Day 9: El Calafate/Parque Nacional los Glaciares ‐ Minitrekking
Breakfast and … onto conquer the Parque nacional Los Glaciares. You will begin the tour at the port pier “Under the shadows.” During the 20 minutes browsing through the Brazo Rico, you will be left captivated by the wonderful views present at these latitudes, which highlights the majestic Perito Moreno glacier. Once on firm land on the opposite shore, specialised guides will welcome you and accompany you to a small shelter. Having checked the trekking equipment, you will then skirt the glacier before climbing it with trekking poles. Later you will return walking to the shelter, but not without having taken in unforgettable sights, parading in front of the Perito Moreno. Finally, you will undertake the return to El Calafate.
Day 10: El Calafate/Navigation between the icebergs
This day the programme provides a morning leave on route to the port flags, which will begin your passage to the north branch of Lake Argentino, accompanied to the peaceful Uppsala canal, where you will find a spectacular barrier of ice.
You will sail on past the iceberg until arriving in front of the glacier that bears the same name as the canal. You will continue heading to Spegazzini Glacier Park, the highest in the park and proceed en route to the glacier Seco. The return will first be to the private port of Punta Bandera and from there to El Calafate, where you will have a little free time to enjoy the evening.
Day 11: EL Calafate/Torres Del Paine
Once you have had breakfast, you will depart for Chile. You will cross the Patagonia plain from north to south and arrive at the Cancha Carrera border. You’ll be left enchanted by the wonders of Southern Chile that will escort you on to the Torres del Paine National Park. Once you arrive by alternating routes and short trips in the comfortable vehicle that will we will make available to you, you will reach the most spectacular viewpoints in this part of the world. In the afternoon, you will descend towards the Laguna Amarga, to finally arrive at the Las Torres Hotel, where you will spend the night.
Day 12: Torres Del Paine
This will be a free day to spend your time as you like or put to the test one of the treks through the park, such as the Valle de Francés (French Valley) or the Grey Glacier.
